Atom 2024

Boys and girls born in 2016, 2015, or 2014 are eligible for our Atom club.  Players cannot turn 11 years old before December 31 of the season year. 

There are no try-outs for the Atom club.  All Atom age players will be able to play for the Colts Atom Football club. 

For the Atom league, rules for games have been modified to promote a fun, safe, and learning experience for all players.  A highlight of the league rules are noted below:

1. There are only 10 players/team on the field at a time.
2. Games are to be played on a half field (40-yard line to end zone).
3. Games are controlled scrimmage style where team starts at the 40-yard line and runs 5 offensive plays, then the opposing team starts at the 40-yard line and runs 5 offensive plays. They switch off six times for a total of 30 offensive plays each.
4. No score or stats are recorded.
5. There are no formal referees. 1 referee from each team, coach recommended.
6. There is no kicking in Atom games.
7. Two coaches from each team allowed on the field.

The Atom season starts in August and runs until the end of October.
