ABOUT ATOM

Colts Atom football is part of an introductory league designed to introduce players aged 8-10 years old to the game of full contact football.

Boys and girls born in 2017, 2016, or 2015 are eligible for our Atom club. Players must not turn 11 years old before December 31, 2026.

There are no tryouts for the Atom club. All eligible Atom-age players are welcome to play for the Colts Atom Football Club.

The Atom tackle football league is designed to promote a fun, safe, and learning-focused experience. Key rules include:

10 players per team on the field at a time.
Games are played on a half field (40-yard line to end zone).
Games follow a controlled scrimmage format:
- Each team starts at the 40-yard line and runs 5 offensive plays.
- The opposing team then starts at the 40-yard line for their 5 plays.
- This alternates six times, for a total of 30 offensive plays per team.
No score or stats are recorded.
No formal referees—each team provides one referee (coach recommended).
No kicking in Atom games.
Two coaches per team are allowed on the field during play.
