1972-1994
SUCCESS FROM THE START

In 1972, Greg Petersen and his determined group of friends petitioned Frank Andruski, a Calgary Stampeder to coach a new Bantam football team with kids from Lake Bonavista, Willow Park and Maple Ridge that could play in the Calgary Bantam Football Association. Frank told them if they got enough kids together he would consider coaching the team. Greg and his friends got enough names, and the Colts were born! The Colts bantam club would go on to win the City Championship for the next three consecutive years!

1995-2003
COLTS PEEWEE AND ATOM TEAMS FOUNDED

In 1995, the Colts would expand their impact in Calgary Minor Football by starting a Peewee football club in addition to their successful Bantam team. The Peewee team was originally for 13 year old players. In 1996, the Calgary Peewee Football Association (CPFA) was born, changing the age of Peewee football to 10-12 years old. The Colts joined the CPFA in 1996, and have been a mainstay of this league since. In 1999, the Colts would also add their Atom football club, to allow 7-10 year old players to be introduced to and learn the basics of tackle football.

2003-NOW
SPRING TEAM FOUNDED AND CREATION OF THE SOUTH CALGARY COLTS FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION (SCCFA)

In 2003, a need was identified to offer club football outside of high school football in the fall so players could be well prepared to play football at the Junior/University level and beyond. The Colts answered the call, and formed the Colts Spring football clubs. Since 2003, the Spring club has been a highly competitive team, placing in the Tier 1 playoffs in almost every year. Additionally in 2006, the SCCFA was born to help govern, manage, and lead the execution of all four colts clubs. In 2016, all four Colts clubs officially became members of the SCCFA. In present day, the SCCFA continues to offer football via the Atom, Peewee, Bantam, and Spring clubs for players aged 8-17.
