The game of tackle football is an integral part of the Canadian social and cultural fabric. The game challenges young men and woman to excel physically, mentally and socially. Players must subordinate their own personal desires and learn to work as a team, with common objectives and support, and must show maturity and selflessness. The South Calgary Colts Football Association (SCCFA) aims to develop these values in every player that walks through one of our clubs, while continually coaching courage and leadership in our young football players. Our players inevitably take great pride in their football accomplishments and the related values, which provide them strength of character in these challenging times as they move through important decisions and milestones in their lives.
There are four tackle football clubs that operate under the SCCFA. The Colts Atom club, member of the Calgary and Area Atom Football League, The Peewee Colts club, member of the Calgary Peewee Football Association (CPFA), the Bantam Colts club, longstanding member of the Calgary Bantam Football Association (CBFA), and the Spring Colts club, charter member of the Calgary Spring Football Association (CSFA). Together, all four clubs provide a positive football experience for approximately 200 young people in southeast Calgary, ranging in ages from 8 to 17.
The Colts Spirit
The Colts Spirit aims to provide a positive, wholesome and challenging football based experience for young men and women in the Southeast neighbourhoods of Calgary. The South Calgary Colts specifically seek to ensure that the players experience selflessness, dedication, inspiration and the pursuit of excellence through physical and intellectual challenges, all within an atmosphere of sportsmanship, and most of all, fun.
We remain true to our belief that there is no substitute for “Commitment, Discipline and Character” and our priorities remain “School, Family, Faith and Football”.
